Car-Free Market Street starts January 29 By Phillip Pierce Better Market Street is set to transform our city’s busiest street for people walking, biking and riding transit over the next few years, but we don’t need to wait for construction to make it safer and improve Muni. Starting on January 29th through our Quick-build program , Market Street will become car-free eastbound from 10 th to Main and westbound from Steuart to Van Ness. In addition to restricting private vehicles, the quick-build includes extending Muni only lanes, new loading zones and much-needed intersection safety improvements. Year-End Highlights from the SFMTA Photo Archive By Jeremy Menzies As we approach the close of 2019, here's a short "year in review" of our favorite history blog posts of the year. So climb aboard and have your ticket to the past ready, 'cause this trip back in time is about to depart! First on this year's list is our celebration of the 80th anniversary of the 1939 Golden Gate International Exhibition on Treasure Island. We unveiled dozens of beautiful large-format photos of the GGIE in our February post. A view of Treasure Island and the Golden Gate International Exposition from Yerba Buena Island circa 1939. The "Tower of the Sun" and other fairground buildings were transformed at night into canvases for intensely colorful light displays. How To Tie A Tie Knot Drape the tie around your collar with the seam facing inward and the thick end on your left, two or three inches lower than your desired finishing position. Bring the thick end horizontally across the front of the narrow end, and then pass it back horizontally behind the narrow end. Pass the thick end again across the front of the knot from left to right. Now pass the thick end again behind the knot horizontally from right to left. Pass the thick end AGAIN across the front of the knot from left to right. Slip a finger under this third horizontal loop. Bring the tip of the thick end up underneath the loop around your collar and feed it up behind the knot, down over the front of the knot and through that third horizontal loop. Pull the thick end through the horizontal loop and snug it down. Adjust the tie by holding the knot in one hand and pulling gently on the narrow end with the other.

'The Mandalorian' returns with season two in fall 2020 It's no secret that a second season of The Mandalorian is in the works, but when does it show up? Roughly a year from now, apparently. Series overseer Jon Favreau has confirmed that the follow-up will premiere on Disney+ in fall 2020, or roughly a year after the Star Wars live action series began.
