How to flash an android phone
Step 1: Backup your phone’s data to any other device 











This is the most important step in the process of flashing. If you fail to backup your data, you will lose them after flashing. You can find backup apps on the Play Store. Look for Titanium Backup and Helium to backup the data to your computer and you can restore it later.
Step 2: Unlock Bootloader/ Root your phone
In order to flash your phone with a custom ROM, you need to change your bootloader settings. Bootloader is the same as BIOS on a computer. Unlocking bootloader varies from phone to phone. Once you’re done unlocking the bootloader, you should root your phone. Rooting an android increases the chance of successful flashing of ROM. Apps like Kingo, SuperSU Pro Root App are good apps to root your phone. 
Step 3: Download custom ROM

 If you haven’t already, select and download the ROM of your choice. The most popular ones are CyanogenMod, Paranoid, Carbon, and MIUI. You might be wondering how to flash a phone without a computer, but we’d suggest you download the ROM to your computer and then move it to your phone. Alternatively, if you don’t want to use a computer, you may use an app named ROM Manager; it will automatically download different ROMs to your phone.
 Step 4: Boot phone into recovery mode 
To boot the phone into recovery mode, hold Volume Down + Power button. That will take you to the bootloader. Once there, you’ll have to use your phone’s volume buttons to navigate through. Use the Power button to select and enter recovery. 
Step 5: Flashing ROM to your android phone 

Once in recovery mode, you can select from a few options such as wipe, install, settings, backup etc. Navigate to install using the volume buttons and use power button to select it. On the next screen, choose ‘Install zip from sdcard’. Find the location where you have the ROM, and confirm the installation by swiping the button at the bottom of your screen.

New Customer Information System Signs Coming to a Transit Shelter Near You! By Kharima Mohamed As part of the Next Generation Customer Information System project, over 700 new Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) signs will display real-time information at Muni transit shelters. Approximately one-third of these signs will be double-sided to provide additional visibility at the highest-ridership stops and major transfer points. This week we installed a single-sided prototype at Eddy and Larkin streets. Serving the Tenderloin, an Equity Neighborhood , this sign will feature real-time predictions for the 19 Polk and 31 Balboa routes.
